Recently just completed a super packed commercial campaign shoot for the 100% natural and organic skincare company - BIO SIGNATURE.

Bio Signature (based in Macau, and representative for Hong Kong) is the sole trader of some of the best organic skincare brands from UK and Taiwan. Brands they represent including S5 Skincare, CF Honey, Evolve Organic and Lulu & Boo.

On the day we have two amazing make up artists - Candace Engelbrecht and Tanya McGeever. Models we have Agatha, Elinor, Jana and Elaine. All very capable and exceptionally beautiful models each represents a brand.

Wardrobe for the day

There are quite a few things to cover on this shoot, from commercial to campaign images, we are also shooting all the catalogue photos for nearly 40 products from all four brands that Bio Signature represents. Time was tight, but thankfully with the help of our studio assistant - Ieva Matulaityte, and some impeccable planning we have not only managed to finish all the shots in the 8 hours studio session, we also have enough time to do some portraits for the ladies at Bio Signature, for their launch of their official website.

A recent test shoot I did with Paula, and make up by Emer Hawkins.

It has been a while since I did some new takes on beauty photography. This is first of a few tests I have done, in terms of experimenting on lighting, and ideas. I have always liked the traditional painting kind of portraits of women, and the sensitivity in their expressions. So this is still here, as have seen in my previous work.

As I have liked very much the last season's D&G runway look, I have decided to use their runway look for my beauty test, and a more modern - eccentric look, playing with the wet hair styling.

Last friday I have just finished a beauty shoot inspired by tribal looks. The make up look we have used on this shoot is a very hot look for runway, and hair was inspired by one of the Simone Rocha's London Fashion Week catwalk show done by Bumble & bumble. Instead of braiding the hair on the back, we tied a few pony tails in a straight line on the back of the head, then bring the end to the front and braid it, then fold back the extended braided bits, and pinned it down, which somewhat looks like what the ancient Chinese court officials/soldiers do in the old time.

Since we are on a tribal theme, and managed to find two very beautiful models, so i think its time to carry on with my personal projects I started a long time ago - the Human's Origin project.

It is a mini, on-going series to celebrate beauties from all over the world. Inspired by the tagline: "All life sprung from Africa", in which I have incorporated African tribal patterns to work as part of the "ornament" which looks like a necklace (or neck choker) emphasising the beauty aspect on the chosen representing personality.

So at the end, not only able to accomplish a set of tribal beauty look, I am so happy that there'll be two more new pieces adding to the Human's Origin collection. For now, I will share with you the final shots from the Tribal Beauty, but you'll have to wait for the two new pieces for Human's Origin ;p

Recently have done a beauty test shoot with Oxygen Models, Mimi and Julia. The double shot is my most favourite, that's making me wanting to do more duo shoots :>

I'm very pleased that I have another two pieces of work got published in an Indonesian fashion & lifestyle magazine, in their March 2010 issue.

If you're accessible to it, sure grap yourself a copy, I was really enjoyed all the other photographic works in this magazine, so i'm sure you'll like it too. And I'm so proud to be among one of the contributors in this magazine... it wouldn't have happened if its not my beautiful friend Nooshin come to shoot with me as my model; the talented and experienced MUA - Alicia, whom I knew for a couple of years now, thanks for doing such a great job, and believed in me even though I'm so young in my photography years...

The two pieces of work that are published in the mag.

Due to Uni work and about to move house soon, too much time has been taken away from me and it has been a while since I can do more photoshoot to suit my urge in photography.

But when you love something, you just couldn't put it down for too long. So I sneak a little bit time in, to study more ways to edit a black & white image.

The following three images (from some old shoots) is the new product from my new found processing methods for B&W images. I know its not something innovative, I am sure many people has done more or less this kind of editing, but as part of the experiment I hope it comes out nicely.

*A soft glow surround the subject to create a soft & feminine image.

* A more harsh exposure to the shadow & light, to recreate the mood of the 50s/60s photographs.

In addition, the photos that were originally planned to be published in the international Indonesian fashion magazine (FIORI), has postponed into the February issue now. I can't wait to see them.

More possible publishing opportunities is also under way :)
There are some big plans include, but I'll tell more when things are more settled ;)

Yesterday I shot with my beautiful beautiful friend Nooshin, and a very talented make-up artist - Alicia, whom I know her for a long time. The shoot was heavily concentrating on beauty looks, aimed to produce a very high end images and of course for my Human's Origin project!!

Nooshin is perfect for this coz her look is very feminine but yet strong!! That's exactly what i love about her. I can always see her has a strong sense of independency, but not forgetting who she is, and could be very girly too! She also has a great personality which is a great bonus!

From now on, I'd like to start documenting my photoshoots, partly because I think its important to look back what you have done, so you can improve and move on to something new. This blog won't be much about technical tips, in general I'm not a techi person, but I'll definitely put down what I've learned from time to time.
